We’re thrilled that you’re considering a visit to Overflow Church!
We understand that visiting a new church can be a confusing experience and we’re working to make it as easy and friendly as possible for you. Here’s information on what to expect when you bring your child for the first time. If you have any questions or comments please email Overflow’s Children Ministry Director, Cindy Bennett.
Since our Sunday Celebrations are held at Celebration Cinema in Benton Harbor, all the fun, action and teaching in SPLASH takes place in theaters. As you enter through the front lobby, turn left at the concession stand and you’ll see the SPLASH registration table towards the end of the hall. Please check your child in at this table.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I SHOW UP?
We’ll be ready to greet and accept your child at 10:00 every Sunday morning.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
We will ask you to fill out a short information form, so that we can best care for your child while they are with us. We will record your child’s name, birthday, contact and allergy information, assign him/her to the appropriate theater and then provide a name tag and wrist band for each child. You will receive a security number. The number on this security badge matches the number on your child’s wrist band. We’ll use this number to alert you in the service if we need you for any reason by putting the number up on the screen. When you pick up your child, please show your security tag at the theater entrance. The teacher/helper will make sure your number matches the number on your child’s tag. Safety and love are of utmost importance in Overflow’s Children’s Ministry.
BIRTH-24 MONTHS: GUPPIES
Know that your little one is in safe hands! Your precious child will be loved on, hear a Bible story, enjoy a snack if appropriate, and will be entertained with toy stations.
25 MONTHS ~ 3 Years: STARFISH
We believe in teaching the Word of God from the very beginning, and your child will hear a Bible story, will be served a snack and have fun with a variety of activity and toy stations.
PRE-K: CORAL FISHIES
Check-in your pre-schooler and then head to Theater 2 where the Adult Service takes place. Children are important to us, and we encourage families to worship together. Following worship and music, the children will be called to the front and led by their teachers to their own theater for awesome child-friendly teaching from the Word of God, games, crafts, activities and FUN!
YOUNG 5s ~ GRADE 2: SEA TURTLES
Like the Coral Fishies and the Dolphins, the Sea Turtles check in, receive a wrist band and then join the family worship in Theater 2. When singing and worship end, they’ll head off to Theater 7, led by teachers and helpers. Lessons are geared exclusively for early elementary school ages, filled with fun hands-on experiences, crafts, snacks and games.
3rd ~ 5th GRADE: DOLPHINS
The big kids at Overflow! Upon check-in, your child will receive a wrist band. 3-5th Graders are a very important part of our family worship on Sundays, so bring your child with you to the Adult Service and following worship they can head to the “big kid” theater: Theater 6. There will be Bible lessons, snacks, crafts, games and discussions all in a fun-filled morning.
