Nursery through Pre K
It’s the month of L-O-V-E. LOVE!
So, let’s celebrate it by showing our love to the one who loves us more than anyone!
This month, we will teach our preschoolers to:
“Love . . . God with all your heart,” (Matthew 22:37, NIrV). And how do we love God with our all our hearts? Why, we look to Jesus to teach us. Through the month of February, Jesus will teach us how to love God. We can love God by doing what He wants us to do as He sat in the temple as a young boy of 12. We can love God by loving others, and we can love God by talking to Him through prayer.
By sharing what Jesus taught us while He was here on earth, we pray that our preschoolers will begin to understand how to love their heavenly Father who loves them so very much.
Be sure to check out the Parent Take Home Paper this month. This is one of the extra special parent connection opportunities that requires a few more resources, but invites preschoolers and their parents to take some time at home to review what they’ve learned at church.

Are you interested in dedicating your child?
At Overflow we practice ”child dedication‟, a public expression declaring the child belongs to God. He has given your child to you and you are humbly “returning‟ the gift back to God. You, as parents, “set apart‟ your child for a life of Christian character and assume responsibility for your child’s spiritual development. The church in turn, partners with parents to help reinforce a child’s spiritual development.
In presenting your child for dedication to the Lord at Overflow Church you:
- Publicly affirm your faith and trust in Christ.
- Commit to pray daily for the physical, mental, social and spiritual welfare of your child, and set an example by attending weekly Sunday celebrations.
- Model your love for God and His Word in your home as an example to your child. “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7
- Commit to look for “teachable moments‟ when you might present Christ to your child and have the joy of leading him/her into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you are interested in dedicating your child please contact Cindy Bennett, SPLASH Children’s Ministry Director.
